Chastity Smith and Dylan Sougstad CHCA Obituary – Car Accident: In loving memory of Warren County crash victims

Authorities in Warren County, Ohio are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that claimed the lives of a teenage driver and a Trenton woman late Friday night.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 10 p.m. on State Route 741 near milepost 6 in Turtlecreek Township, Ohio. Troopers from the patrol’s Lebanon Post responded to the scene after receiving reports of a serious crash involving two vehicles.

Investigators said a 2019 Tesla Model 3 driven by Dylan Sougstad, 17, of Cincinnati, Ohio, was traveling southbound on State Route 741 at the time of the incident. A 2020 GMC Terrain driven by Chastity Smith, 53, of Trenton, Ohio, was traveling northbound along the same roadway.

Preliminary findings indicate that the Tesla crossed the center line and collided with the oncoming GMC. The impact forced both vehicles off the roadway, with the Tesla traveling west and the GMC leaving the road to the east.

Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene, but both drivers were pronounced dead there due to injuries sustained in the crash, authorities confirmed.

Several local agencies assisted with the response, including the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, the Turtlecreek Township Fire Department, emergency medical services crews, the Ohio Department of Transportation, the Warren County Coroner’s Office, and Jacob’s Towing.

Following the crash, authorities closed a portion of State Route 741 between Hamilton Road and State Route 63 for several hours while investigators examined the scene and crews worked to clear the wreckage.

Officials say the crash remains under active investigation as troopers continue working to determine the factors that led to the collision.
