The Aurora community is mourning the loss of Megan Walker, whose passing has left family members, friends, and colleagues reflecting on the life of a woman remembered for her warmth, humor, and vibrant personality.
Walker was known locally as a dedicated employee at Lowe’s Home Improvement, where she worked as a Cabinets Specialist beginning in October 2020. In that role, she helped customers plan and design kitchen and home improvement projects, earning appreciation from both coworkers and clients for her friendly approach and willingness to help.
Colleagues say Walker brought positivity and laughter into the workplace, creating an atmosphere where coworkers and customers alike felt comfortable and welcomed. Her knowledge and patience made her a trusted resource for people undertaking home renovation projects.
Walker was also a graduate of Aurora High School, where she built strong friendships that lasted well beyond her school years. Those who knew her during that time recall an outgoing and energetic personality that naturally drew people together.
Friends describe Walker as someone who cared deeply about the people around her. She was known for sharing jokes, offering encouragement, and creating moments of laughter that many now remember with gratitude.
Within her family, Walker was a beloved daughter and sister whose presence meant a great deal to those closest to her. She shared a particularly close bond with her brother JD Walker, and was cherished by her father Dave Walker and extended relatives, including Benjamin Rosamond, Rob Nuckolls, and Kori Nuckolls, among others who were part of her close-knit circle.
