Michael Mott Obituary, Colorado Suicide Death – Denver Airport Incident: In Loving Memory Of Michael Mott, Man Fatally Struck by Plane

Authorities report that a man was fatally struck by a Frontier Airlines aircraft at Denver International Airport in an apparent suicide. Officials say the individual intentionally entered the airport tarmac after breaching perimeter security, climbing over an eight-foot fence topped with barbed wire.

Surveillance footage captured the man walking calmly across the runway as the aircraft accelerated for takeoff. He was struck by the plane, with part of his body caught in one of the engines. The Denver City and County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death a suicide, noting that the cause of death involved multiple blunt and sharp force injuries.

Denver International Airport officials stated that an alarm near the perimeter fence was triggered approximately nine minutes before the collision. An airport operator initially attributed the alarm to wildlife near the fence and did not immediately detect the individual. Camera angles and terrain temporarily obscured the man from view.

The incident occurred shortly after the man entered the tarmac, with authorities confirming the collision happened within minutes of him crossing the fence. Airport leadership emphasized ongoing reviews of security protocols in response to the tragic event.

The investigation remains ongoing as officials continue examining the circumstances surrounding the breach and the subsequent collision.
