A stretch of Highway 95 became the scene of a fatal crash Saturday evening after a motorcyclist was critically injured in what authorities describe as a single-vehicle accident.
According to officials, the crash occurred around 5:50 p.m. on April 25, 2026, near Rainbow Drive. Emergency responders were dispatched following reports of a motorcyclist down in the roadway. Upon arrival, crews found 64-year-old Tracy Wayne Hevern with serious injuries.
Authorities confirmed that no other vehicles were involved.
Hevern was transported to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center, where medical personnel attempted life-saving treatment. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Officials said Hevern was a resident of the Bullhead City area and was familiar with the section of highway where the crash took place. Investigators say that detail has not yet clarified what may have led to the incident.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Authorities are reviewing several possible factors, including road conditions, mechanical issues, and the possibility of a medical emergency. No conclusions have been announced.
The incident occurred just before sunset, a time when visibility can shift quickly. Officials noted that changing light conditions, combined with steady traffic along Highway 95, can create additional risks for motorcyclists.
Hevern’s death has drawn attention within the Bullhead City community, serving as a reminder of the potential dangers riders face on the road. Safety advocates and law enforcement continue to encourage both motorists and motorcyclists to remain alert, particularly during evening hours when visibility may be reduced.
No additional details have been released as the investigation continues.
